Welcome to ruu.li, the rapid unified uri for legal information, a URL shortener for cases and legislation.
Type or paste a citation below to go to your preferred site for it,
configured per jurisdiction (separately for case law and legislation)
via the settings.
Share a link like
http://ruu.li/1903hca1
or
http://ruu.li/evidence1995nsw/128
and it takes you and your colleague to your preferred legislation or caselaw site.
NEW - try the legislation search tool
Pick which site the "preferred" row above (and the bare, unprefixed route) links to, per jurisdiction, separately for case law and legislation. "official" is the jurisdiction's own court/government site where ruu.li knows one, otherwise it behaves like "classic" (AustLII). Every other route on this page ( /o/ included) always means exactly what it says, regardless of any saved preference.
A bookmarklet is a litle piece of javascript that you can keep in your bookmarks bar. Install it by drag the link to your bookmarks bar, then use it by clicking on it.
The ruu.li bookmarklet searches ruu.li for whatever text is selected on the page; if nothing's selected, it instead reads the medium neutral citation straight off the case page you're on (Jade, AustLII, a court's own site, or NSW Caselaw) and takes you to your preferred site for it -- no more needing to log into Jade! See this video for an example of how to use this bookmarklet.
If you want to explictly go to austlii, jade, or the official website (where available) use one of the search bars or bookmarklets below.
